Well, hi!
Something to know about me is that I'm at my most content when I design.
I enjoy creating publications, booklets, branding, posters, illustrations and advertisements. Typography is my favorite study within design and has
lead me to fall in love with publication and spread work. The most recent study I've begun is website design. Some of my hobbies include painting, photography, and animation. To me, graphic design means expressing the inexplicable; it’s a designer or artist’s job to relay a message without using words alone. I adore the metamorphic nature of turning a mission, idea,
or emotion into a digestible, relatable design.
My Experience
At 19 years old, I became an on-site Project Manager at the E.V. car manufacturer, Rivian. During my time here, I developed great relationships with senior management. My greatest achievement was executing a hiring program that opened hundreds of jobs to the Central Illinois community, which continued to be used after my departure. I spent a year managing before I returned to design. I still implement the problem-solving and communication skills I learned as a Project Manager. There's a commonality between good design and good management; to express yourself clearly, you have to do so in a way that your audience can empathize with.
My Passions
I adore working with typography. From designing wordmark logos to formatting copy in publications, I love it all. My favorite aspect of type is how typefaces speak through character design; every typeface has its own ethos, or "vibe", that influence the message of a project. I select type that reflects the ethos of a brand, message, or publication, sometimes tweaking or creating my own design. Typography is the backbone of my work.
